为金鸡纳属树皮中的一种生物碱。

为奎宁(quinine)的立体异构体，与后者在9位处碳原子立体配置不同。

可由金鸡纳树皮萃取而得。衍生物：盐酸盐C20H24N2O2·2HCl，晶体(由丙酮重结晶)。熔点196℃(分解)。旋光度+33.5°(乙醇中)有抗疟疾作用。
